International Entertainer

Few singer-piano players on the international entertainment circuit possess the depth of experience of Pete Thompson. The list of artists he has performed with and supported includes top Australian and international acts such as the legendary Tom Jones for six nights at Crown Palladium. He has performed at venues throughout Australia including the Crown Casino, Hotel Sofitel, Grand Hyatt, Hilton Hotel, Sheraton Towers, and Launceston Casino as well as performing on national television.

 

 

The clients for whom he has worked include: Kerry Packer, Lloyd Williams, the TV Week Logie Awards (Australia's version of the American Emmy Awards) and the Australian Tennis Open. Pete's repertoire covers a broad range of styles and he is as at ease playing the smooth jazz of the 40's and 50's, as he is playing Rock and R&B. STAGE MANAGER

The most notable occasion being for the touring Glenn Miller Reunion Band which at the time included several surviving original members such as Ray McKinley, Zeke ZarchyJohhny Best & Tex Beneke plus the legendary Billy May sitting in on trumpet. The venues included some of Melbourne's biggest stadiums at the time [1][2] and an exclusive private dinner for Charles and Diana, the Prince and Princess of Wales.

MUSIC TEACHER

In between gigs Pete ran a thriving music school for around fourteen years teaching rock, blues, jazz & classical piano plus music theory. He also taught guitar at a local primary school. Some of his former music students are now very successful professional musicians in their own right.

Since then Pete has played venues and cruise ships all over the world. He is currently living and working in the U.S.
